This Black Pearl on the Columbia wedding is KILLER. ‘Nuff said. (*dusts off hands, ends blog post here.)
Don’t worry, I won’t really leave you hanging like that, plus, I’m too excited not to share more about this BEAUTIFUL wedding day! This was my very first time ever shooting at the Black Pearl on the Columbia for a wedding and it most definitely did NOT disappoint. Lovely modern architecture, plus incredible views in every direction. Win, win. Oh, and add an amazingly rad couple to that mix?! Recipe for the best wedding day ever.
First, Victoria & Dean started their day off at a cute little Airbnb on the Oregon side of the Columbia River. Large windows are everywhere which would create the most lovely light-filled space for getting ready photographs. Choosing a location such as this to get hair and makeup done in really make your getting ready photos turn out beautifully. Gimme alllllls the light drenched wedding suites please and thank you! And, as a result, these images of HMUA services by Blush N’ Bride are perfection.
Because wedding party and couple’s portraits are next on our list for the day, and Victoria and Dean both really wanted a location that would highlight the incredible mountains and Columbia River Gorge that Portland is known for. After asking my opinion for the perfect location, we decided on this beautiful cove near Cascade Locks, Oregon. The reason being, that this spot offered the gorgeous Mt. Hood and surrounding forest views PLUS the killer river views of the Columbia all from one location. Dark green forest covered hills and deep turquoise waters complete with jagged rock cliffs, are all the things that make my photographer heart skip a beat.
The Black Pearl on the Columbia Wedding Venue
The Black Pearl on the Columbia Wedding venue is the next stop for this awesome day. Dean and Victoria’s ceremony was held on the bottom level of this light filled, sleek, modern building. Upstairs in the Black Pearl opens up into a large open floor plan, with tall ceilings and windows in every direction. All those floor to ceiling windows give way for the perfect view of the Columbia River. And sunset from these windows is absolutely breathtaking.
Several other rad vendors helped make this lovely wedding day possible. You should hire them. And me. Obviously.
